10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. Malachi 3:10

In late April, a severe hail and thunderstorm, ripped the tin roof off the orphanage at Rachel’s Home. Life for the children in the orphanage is tough enough at the best of times. This storm must have been terrifying and the aftermath pure misery.

In the midst of this, God called upon our team of Rachel’s Home supporters to step forward.

Our Plan was simple. We would borrow $2,500 from the Board of Managers. That along with $1,000 from our reserves would fund the $3,500 needed to repair the ceiling and restore Rachel’s Home. We would then launch an appeal to Central, to raise the $2,500 needed to reimburse the operating funds of the Board of Managers.

Last Sunday, we launched the appeal and you responded. Oh, how you responded. By Thursday noon, you had raised more than $4,500.

Thank-you so much. But, we’re not done yet.

When we think of Africa, we don’t generally think of snow, but it does snow occasionally in Lesotho. Winter temperatures often go below zero at night. And of course, winter in Lesotho is July and August. The young orphans of Rachel’s home, spend their nights in the orphanage, a concrete block building with no heat and no insulation. It is a tough place to live.

With the additional funds, we are exploring the possibility of insulating the ceiling. There will still be no heat, but with insulation, we can still dramatically improve living conditions in the orphanage.

With your help, we don’t need to stop with simply restoring Rachel’s Home. We can make a real difference in the lives of the children at Rachel’s Home. When we launched this appeal, we had no idea how God would bless our efforts. With your help, he really has “poured out so much blessing”

Please keep up the work. Together, we can make a real difference. Together, we can this happen!

Thank-you so much
